14-17th January Having a job flying around the world has some obvious advantages and one of them is that your friends/family can come along on a working trip for a fraction of the price

My brother and boyfriend have been on my ‘discount list’ forever and this is the first time that I could delight a friend with this lovely convenience, as I can now chop and change my ‘discount list’ more often than before. My best friend Cindy was the first (of many I am sure) to enjoy this treat and when the time came for a nice destination at the right time to appear on my roster, she jumped at the chance to come with me!

Koh Phi Phi Thailand – the whole month of February 2009 It’s not WHAT you know, but WHO you know I have decided to take advantage of the awful recession that is pestering most of the world these days. The airline I work for is allowing their cabin crew (and most of their staff) month(s) of unpaid leave, with keeping your job for when you get back and the use of the discounted staff travel, who in their right of mind would not take advantage of this?!.

So Monday the 2nd of February was the big day that I was planning to fly to Bangkok, but the ever changeable weather in the UK had other plans with me…

Japan. Days 6 to 9. December 4 – 7th 2008

DAY SIX:Today we venture out of Kyoto and to Osaka, about 40 minutes away by train (although sometimes the journey can be longer, depending on time of day and where in Kyoto/Osaka you are). This is where Michiel studies and lives. We aim to visit Osaka Jo (Osaka Castle), the Umeda Sky Building and Michiel’s lab and Uni.

Japan. Days 1 to 5. November 29th – December 3rd 2008

My brother Michiel, is finishing his ‘Artificial Intelligence’ Studies at Osaka University in Japan and my parents and me have decided to visit him when I have time off in November-December so we can celebrate ‘Sinterklaas’ together.

DAY ONE:We fly with Japan Airlines to Osaka Kansai Airport (KIX). The flight was really nice, the Japanese food on the plane good and the crew very polite and helpful (3 London based crew and the rest Japanese)
